Websites for trades

Websites for plumbers.

Live in 7 days. Built to get your phone ringing and found on Google and AI search.

Plumbing is a trade of problems. A burst pipe, no hot water, a boiler that has stopped working in January. The customer wants someone to answer the phone and turn up. They usually search on a phone, they often search in a hurry, and they will look at only a few results.

Plumbers also have a trust signal that most trades do not: Gas Safe registration. Work on gas appliances in Great Britain must be done by a Gas Safe registered engineer, and customers know to check. Your website should make that easy to see.

What customers search for

What people type when they need a plumber.

  • “emergency plumber near me”
  • “boiler repair in your town”
  • “boiler service price”
  • “no hot water, who do I call”
  • “blocked drain or toilet plumber”
  • “bathroom fitting cost in your town”
  • “Gas Safe registered plumber near me”

Most of these describe a problem, not a trade. The plumber who has a page for “boiler repair in Epsom” is more likely to be found than the one with a single page called “services”.

What the site needs

What a website for plumbers has to do.

  • Gas Safe registration, shown properly

If you are registered, show it clearly with your registration number, because customers can check it on the Gas Safe Register. Only mention gas work if you are registered to do it.

  • Your number and hours, up front

Click-to-call on every page and your real working hours. If you do out-of-hours call-outs, say so and say where. If you do not, say so honestly. Nothing frustrates a customer more than an unanswered phone.

  • A page for each type of problem

Emergency repairs and leaks, boilers and heating, blocked drains and bathrooms are four different customers with four different worries. A page for each helps the right person find you.

  • A short form that sorts the job

What is the problem, how urgent is it, and what is the postcode? Add the option to send a photo of the leak or the boiler, which often saves a wasted trip.

  • Plain information about call-out and pricing

You cannot give a firm price for every problem, but you can explain how you charge: whether there is a call-out fee, how you quote bigger jobs and how you confirm the price before you start.

Pages worth having

One page for each job you want more of.

  • Emergency plumbing and leaks
  • Boilers and heating
  • Blocked drains and toilets
  • Bathroom fitting
  • Radiators and taps

People search for a plumber in their own town, so area pages like “Plumber in Epsom” are worth adding once your main service pages are in place.

Questions

Questions plumbers ask me.

Should I put my Gas Safe number on my website?

Yes, if you are registered. Customers know to ask for it, and being able to check your number on the Gas Safe Register builds trust quickly. If you are not registered, do not advertise gas work.

How should I handle emergency call-outs on the site?

Say plainly what you offer: your hours, how fast you usually attend and the area you cover. Put click-to-call at the top of every page and add an “urgent” option to the enquiry form so you can see what needs a fast reply.

Do I need different pages for boilers and bathrooms?

Yes. A customer whose boiler has stopped and a customer planning a new bathroom have different worries, different timescales and different searches. Separate pages let you answer each properly.

Can customers send me a photo of a leak?

Yes. Every site has a WhatsApp button, and Pro and Premium add a job form with photo upload. A quick photo often lets you tell the customer what to do next, or what to bring.
